PERPLEXED

In January, I shut down one night only to boot up with a
different recycle bin and control panel view. Not the
usual Windows XP Professional view I've always known.
This "new" recycle bin has a blue panel in it
with "Desktop, My computer ect.".
The "new" control panel is more cartoonish.
They really appeared out of nowhere.
I saw the same views at the local PC stores but
the "professionals" there hadn't a clue what version it
was.
HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANYONE ELSE RECENTLY?
ANY CLUE TO WHAT VERSION THE "NEW" VIEWS ARE FROM?

If I understand correctly - when you turned your computer
off it was configured one way and later, when you turned
it back on, it was configured another way.

Computers do not re-configure themselves when they are
turned off.

This raises the question "Who had access to your computer
while you weren't there?" There is more to safekeeping
your data, particularly valueable data, than simply
protecting the computer while it's on-line.
