Unwanted messages

Just had a new computer with windows XP and windows
messenger already loaded. Unfortunatley I constantly get
messages popping up from various young women, newly
arrived into the country and offering to show me their
pictures if i visit their websites!!
As my kids have access to the computer I want to stop
these infuriating messages for good.
I downloaded and use msn messenger to talk to family and
would like to keep this.
Any Ideas please??

Turn on the internet connection Firewall and these pop-up messages won't
appear anymore.
