I have just changed to Windows 2000 from NT4. A feature of W2K
Explorer that annoys me is the unnecessary image (with folder name,
etc.) that sometimes comes up on the left side of the right pane of
Explorer. I have the right pane set up for Details view and need to
widen the window to see some more information (e.g. Date/Time
Modified). But as soon as I widen the Window slightly the image comes
up on the left side of the pane, meaning I can see less information,
rather than more! I end up having to widen the pane by about 50% in
order to see the info I want. The image may be useful to Windows
beginners, but I find it no use at all.
Is there some way to turn this off for all Explorer windows? I can
turn it off for individual folders (using View/Customize This
Folder...), but can I do this once for all folders?
