unwanted favorites which cant b erased

Our son accepted to update msn+ and from this moment; some favorites have
been added in all lists of the users of our comp. These favorites dont appear
when we look into the favorites folder nor do they when we try to reorganize.
I tried to disable all additionnal modules and so on, no effect. I used the
anti spywares from microsoft, ad-aware & spybot, they dont see it... Does
anyone know how to get rid of it

I think the "update" was Messenger Plus (not a Microsoft product) from
http://www.msgplus.net/ or another download site. These favorites are
created by the sponsor software. You can install Messenger Plus without the
sponsor
software.

Uninstalling/reinstalling Messenger Plus without the sponsor software *may*
remove these favorites.

If unsuccessful with that, get help via HijackThis. Start at
http://forum.aumha.org/viewtopic.php?t=4075 Then go to
http://www.aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm Work through the preliminary cleaning
steps then post a HijackThis log to the forum at
http://forum.aumha.org/viewforum.php?f=30

Hi Don,

The unremovable favorites are definitely caused by the Messenger Plus!
sponsor program. The other problem is the malware that was attempting to
install via the MP sponsor program popups. I'd recommend that a
comprehensive malware check be run in any event, even after the Sponsor has
been removed.
