Unwanted extra copies

A friend has suddenly been getting extra copies whenever she prints
something. Instead of a single copy, she is getting eight copies of the
document. This happens with two different printers (BUT on the same PC).
(Epson C43SX and an old Canon BJ)
My knowledge of printers is very minimal and I would appreciate any
help.
The machine it's happening on is running Win98. It's an old Toshiba
laptop. 32MB, Pentium (maybe 133).
I've only seen the problem while she was running Lotus 123 (v5!!!), but
she says it happens all the time.
 
Does it happen from every application, too? There are usually two places to
set the number of copies, one in the application and one it the driver (as a
default).

Thanks Jerry. It was Lotus. I 'fixed' the problem by going in to the
relevant dialog, changing "No of Copies [1]" to "No of Copies [1]" - ie,
_overwriting_ the selection, then closing Lotus and rebooting.
It's fine now.
