Unwanted email addresses appearing in To: drop down box

I've a user in my contacts who has changed email address.
I've amended his address but if i create a new message,
when typing first few characters of name, the users new
address and old address appear in drop down box. How do i
remove the old, unwanted address. This doesn't appear
anywhere in my Contacts so not sure where to look to
delete this.
