Unwanted domains in Registry

I use XP Pro (SP2). I was doing a search of my registry and found a number
of entries which seemed to point to domains on the internet. They were
found in the following location:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Internet
Settings/ZoneMap/Domains

Almost all of the entries (I think they are called keys) under this folder
were domain names. In the right window most of them said the same thing.

Name Type Data
Default REG_SZ (value not set)
* REG_DWORD 0x00000004 (4)

I have 2 questions.

1. Is there anything in this folder which is needed for WinXP Pro?
2. Is there any harm in deleting everything in this directory? If so, how
about deleting all of the keys with domain names that I do not recognize?

Thank you much for the direction.

Those are the Sites settings from Internet Explorer / Tools / Internet Options / Security.

You can manage them there.

Thanks Jerold for showing me where to manage these sites. Once I went to
this location, I noticed that I have my general Security setting on Medium,
and I have a number of websites in the Restricted Sites list. I do not
recall adding any of these sites by coming to this page and adding it one at
a time. Here is my question.

What other way can sites be added to this list?

Thanks again.

This is an old post, so I hope someone still reads these and can answer.
I went to the place you can manage the good/bad sites, but that still
doesn't answer the initial question as to if you can delete all the
domains out of your registry.

They look like I don't need them.
