Trying to select several photographs for deleting, renaming etc., I hold down
Ctrl key and select required photos by clicking on them but before I can
select the required action on the drop down menu, the selected photos have
been copied ! This is a random occurrance as sometimes I am allowed to click
on the drop down menu to select delete etc. Before I realised what was
happening I landed up with literally hundreds of copies of copies of copies !
I have also tried this manoeuvre on another computer with the same results so
I feel sure it is a software glitch - has anyone else encountered it and if
so,what is the remedy please.

You said it occurred on other computers too, so it's apparently something
you're doing, like not having a steady mouse hand?

I have the same problem of unwanted copying but when it happens I just go to
the "Edit" tab on the headers and select "undo copy" immediately. After
being prompted for the action I can continue what I was doing.
