Bought a Vista PC recently. Installed Windows Mail listed as
microsoft.public.windows.vista.mail - Windows Live Mail. Have I got it
right? But having problems with it, went ahead and installed Windows Live
Mail too.

In WL I can access the Newsgroups allright but cannot access the Inbox. When
I click on the Inbox the screen shifts to Windows Live Mail.

Something is not right with my setup.

TIA

Someone is confused. I am very confused about what you are saying.

I don't understand "Installed Windows Mail listed as
microsoft.public.windows.vista.mail - Windows Live Mail."

You are referring to a newsgroup as if it is software. That is confusing. I
don't understand how Windows Live Mail in that is relevant.

I also don't understand "click on the Inbox the screen shifts to Windows
Live Mail".

I think you are not getting help because the description is confusing. Also,
it is not clear what you are asking.

Thanks for your response, and sorry for the confusion. I am not that good in
computers and don't always understand things as well as others do. But you
have helped me to get it now.

I should have said that I installed Windows Mail and found it to be not
working properly, decided to go to the appropriate Newsgroup for help. Have
I got the right Newsgroup?

Clicking on the Inbox and the screen shifting to WLM does not happen now,
but the Inbox is empty. I should have about 2K msgs in there. Hope you can
help me there.

Thanks

Something is still not clear. You say "installed Windows Mail" but Windows
Mail does not get installed separately from Vista. Perhaps you installed
Windows Live Mail; can you please check that? What did you do to install
whatever was installed?
