I have this running in task manager processes and it takes copius amounts of
memory and slows down the computer signingicantly. It cannot be deleted and
appears to be a virus or some malignant code. I can find nothing on it and
Symantec does not recognize it as a threat. Anyone familiar with this?

Hello, mgm0852,

Have you run a virus scan on your machine since you first noticed this
happening? I'm wondering if the subject of your post is actually spelled
"untask.exe", or if it's "runtask.exe." If it's the latter, according to the
sysinfo.org site, there's a program called runtask.exe which is caused by
the Agent.3.AU Trojan.
Good luck with that!
terry.

I have run an up to date Symantec virus scan and it did
not detect it as a virus. It is definitely "untask.exe"
since I've tried to delete it from task manager processes
at least 30 times and it defies deletion and just keeps
running and using gobs of memory slowing down the entire
computer and all programs. I have run searches on this
phrase and cannot find a thing about it! Surely, I
cannot be the only one with this problem
