Unsuccessful installation

Hail Techs!!!

I can't install WinXP pro. I always get "can't copy file"
error messages on the file copy phase. I can't get past
10% of copying winxp install files. I just bought a new
memory module (DDR PC2100) and a new CD-RW (lite-on) which
I also use for reading discs. I was able to install Win98
but I got blue screen errors every now and then. I think
its the memory, can anybody give me a second opinion on
this... Thanks.
