Unspecified error

Whenever I try to Import a video , I always get an unspecified error message.
The videos that I am trying to import are mpeg2 videos from already made
dvds. Like the dvds are minidvds that are finalized from the camcorder, which
I uploaded onto the computer using the provided software from the camcorder.
