unsent messages

I am unable to send emails. all emails go to my outpost and I receive a msg
when I log off that I have unsent msgs in my outbox would I like to send
them. If I answer yes they still are not sent. I've checked with my internet
provider and am all set there as well as my virus and security s/w. Can you
help?
