Unsent Emails in Inbox

I have Outlook 2000 and when I send a word document
(File, Send, Page by Email) or send a message with a web
link, it sends the message, but also adds an UNSENT draft
into my Inbox. It looks like the message hasn't been
sent, but when I go to my Sent Items, it is there. I
have talked to the people that I have sent messages to
and they have gotten them, so I don't know why the copy
is in my Inbox. How do I get it to stop adding the
copies to my Inbox? It only does this when I send an
attachment or a web link. Anyone have any ideas? This
has been happening for about 3 months and it is becoming
annoying. Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Jessica

I have several users that just started reporting this same problem a
few days ago. I have not been able to recreate this problem though.
Are you able to consistently recreate this problem?

It seems that every time I send a Word document by File,
Sent, Page by Email or I send a Web link this happens.
It is a pretty consistent basis and only happens on a
couple computers. I have users that have Windows XP with
Office 2000 and they don't have the problem, but users
with Windows 2000 and Office 2000 are having this problem.

We are having the same issue with approximately six machines. It seems to have started approximately a week or two ago. I can consistently repeat it on these machines. It only occurs if you send an attachment from outside of Outlook. For example, sending a link from IE, sending a document from within Word, sending a worksheet from within Excel and sending from any third party (non-MS) application that has a send email attachment function. We have tried installing the latest Windows service pack (we have Windows 2000), repairing Outlook, deleting mapi32.dll and repairing Office (we have Office 2000). So far no luck. Our next step is to call MS Support. Will post back when/if we get a fix.

After installing Office 2000 SP3 this problem has been corrected. MS
Support would not attempt to troubleshoot until we were on the latest
service packs. After applying SP3 the problem disappeared so we do
not know what exactly was causing the problem in the first place.
