Unsatisfactory printing with so-called compatable cartidges

Epson printer will at times print with compatable cartridges. Will start resisting and informing me if I want to use them. I reply yes and it doesn't always cooperate

Call Epson and tell them that you are having problems using a third party
ink cartridge on their printer , they will be glad to help you. Jym

I know you don't want to hear this, but quality is an issue with all ink jet
cartridges, not just compatibles. There have been several studies, by
publications like PC World and PC Magazine, that show that the overall
quality of after-market ink jet cartridges is significantly lower than the
much more expensive manufacturer originals. I never use anything but
factory Epson cartridges in my Stylus Photo 820 and they work about 80% of
the time. I couldn't get the cheaper compatible cartridges to work 50% of
the time.
