I was burning a cd the other day and suddenly a screen
pops up saying unsafe removal of device. It said that my
cd burner and cd rom drive were both being removed. I
didn't touch either of them, I don't even know how to take
them out. Can someone help me? It's too expensive to ask
microsoft for help.

Sounds like your cd burning program crashed.
I'd reboot and discard that cd...then try again

That's not the problem. Windows doesn't recognize the
drives as even being there at all. When I start up the
computer it says something about IDE drives(I don't know
what that is) and it says both names of my cd drives. So
does that mean that they are still connected?

Yes, that means they're still connected.

This is a fairly common problem with EZCD Creator. Is that the software
you're using? If so, you should be able to find a solution on their website.
It normally requires a minor registry hack.

Yes, I am using ezcd creator. I searched their website
and in order to get help I need some code from the
packaging of my software. I don't have that code though
because I got this computer from work. Do you know what
to do in the registry?
