Unresolved Visited Links Problem

AL HOLLOWAY

Here's another request for help with a problem I'm experiencing with IE 6.0
SP2 and W2K Pro SP4. The problem is twofold.

First, I have the visited links color set to red in IE and my home page set
to Google.Whenever I click on a link it turns red and remains red when I
exit the site that the link takes me to and return to Google. But the
previously visited link reverts to blue (that's a little darker than that
for unvisited links). On some sites that have additional links, things work
as expected (i.e., all visited links remain red).

Secondly, regardless of what color I set for visited links, on my homepage
(Google) it's always red. Again, only the most recent visited one.

As always, I appreciate all help, suggestions, and advice.

Thanks,

Al Holloway

Hi,
Some websites specify colors for link, vlink (visited) and alink (active)
some don't. The source code for google.com shows:
"body bgcolor=#ffffff text=#000000 link=#0000cc vlink=#551a8b alink=#ff0000"
So you're seeing the specified colors:
ffffff ... white
000000 ... black
551a8b ... dark blue
ff0000 ... red
If you want to always see the colors you've chosen, you could go to Internet
Options> Accessibility and check "Ignore colors specified on webpages."
You'll get strange results on some pages.

Hope this helps,
Don
