unrecognized ubs device

I have an Image Tank III device, used to download photos
from camera cards and then transfer them to a computer
over a UBS port. In essence, it is seen as an external
hard drive. Previously I used it with my Dell Dimension
4100 running Windows XP Pro and with my Dell Latitude
C400 running Windows 2000. Both recognize the device
when I connect it.

I now purchased a Dell Dimension 8300 running Windows XP
Pro. It will not recognize the device. I have tried
reloading the drivers from the Dell Resource CD and have
reinstalled Windows XP. Still the computer will not
recognize the device.

I installed the device driver from the CD that came with
it, and it appears to have been installed in C:Documents
and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs. Still the
computer will not recognize the device.

Can anyone help?
 
I suppose .....

You tried unplugging and plugging it in a few times?

ME was bad for that ...... wouldn't load the USB device on
bootup. Pulling the cord and plugging it in again, usually
works for me.
