I have written some documents on Works 7.0 Word Processor and have tried to
send by e-mail and have also copied to cd on d' drive to give to the client
but when opened on other pc's with cd or e-mail they are unreadable. Instead
of readable text, the text is replaced with hollow squares. This is a new
notepad and I am baffled. We are all on XP. Please help as this is baffling
me as I am new to the computer world.

Does the person you are sending it too have Works 7.0? If not what would they use to view it. Send it as rtf format.

Do they also have Works 7?

XP doesn't include anything that will read Works 7 files.

You could use WordPad to write the documents, that comes as standard
with XP.

I am unsure about whether these were saved in Notepad or not. Other replies
are correct that it takes the same or more recent version of a program to
read what was created.

Say Notepad is on the fritz; another option to send is Wordpad, includefd
with XP. Things should now be compatible and documents should be able to be
seen as sent.

Thanks...
