Unread message count incorrect

I have a few users that when they are in Outlook have no
unread items, but the unread number next to the Inbox
shortcut on the Outlook Bar shows an incorrect number,
like 2. We are running Outlook 2002 SP-2.
Any idea how to fix?

Opening any message always fixes it for me.
