I used to get an unopened envelope on the desktop taskbar whenever i got new
mail. This doesn't happen anymore. Please could someone tell me how to make
it happen again.

Are you using XP? RIght-click the Notification area of the Taskbar (aka,
the System Tray) and choose "Customize Notifications". Locate "You have new
unopened items" in the Name column and change its behavior to "Always show".
Click OK, then OK.

Thanks Brian,

Yes I am using XP. I tried what you suggested, but I still dont get the icon
when new mail arrives. Can you suggest anything else?

Thanks again,

Well, I can suggest you make sure you still have the alert option turned on
by clicking Tools>Options>E-mail Options>Advanced E-mail Options and making
sure the box labeled "Show an envelope icon in the notification area" is
checked. Other than that, I can't think of anything.
