How can I remove the section in the middle of the left side that
shows a calendar and keeps adding lists of other calendars that I
don't use. It takes space that I want to use to see all the options
to go quickly to elements of Outlook. Thanks
I assume you're using Outlook 2003, that you are using Day/Week/Month view
on the Calendar folder, and that you're referring to the little thumbnail
calendar and the "My Calendars" section. I don't think you can get rid of
the thumbnail calendar at all while you're in that view. The "My Calendars"
section can't be closed completely, but you can remove items from it to make
the section smaller -- right click a folder and select "Remove from My
Calendars". (Be careful not to click "Delete" by mistake -- you don't want
to delete the folder, you just want to remove the shortcut from that
section.) Other than turning off the Navigation Pane altogether, these
suggestions are about the best you can do.
PS If I show my address below, do I get an email whenever there is a
response? If not, is there a way easily to find the answers to my
questions?
thanks again
No, you don't get an e-mail response unless someone intentionally sends you
one...and it may be too late already, but don't post your real e-mail
address to newsgroups, as you will become a target for spammers who scan the
newsgroups for valid e-mail addresses. I see you're using the Web interface
to connect to these newsgroups...there should be a warning posted on the
start page, such as the one at
http://support.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.aspx. Please go back and
read it, and make sure you don't use your real address next time you post.
As for an easy way to find the answers...the web interface doesn't make it
easy. You may want to try using a dedicated newsreader program, such as
Outlook Express or Agent, instead of the web interface, as these programs
make it much simpler to track conversations and search for old posts and
replies.
