I am getting this error every time that i try and boot up windows. My PC has worked fine for 1.5 years now until yesterday. I recently re-installed windows XP professional and it still worked for a few days until yesterday when it unexpectedly gave me the error. It says that "windows did not start succesfully last time". I am using grey IDE cables and i belive that they are 80 pin. Does anyone know what is wrong?

oh, and it is a damaged file system. however, when i put in the Xp disk to re-install it wont boot up from the CD. It taked my right on back to the XP startup option; safemode, normal etc...
