UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

We've all seen this message before, and rarely is it
anything good. I'm running XP Home on a Compaq Presario
2700US notebook with a PIIIm at 1.0ghz and 256mb ram.

I get 0x81F5CE30 and 0xC000000E as the Technical
Information on the stop, along with the expected
0x000000ED code. Anyone know what might be causing this
error?

Jeremy;
Power off
Desktop:...Open the case and reseat the hard drive IDE ribbon cable at
both ends.
Laptop:... simply remove and reinsert the hard drive.

Otherwise go to the website of the hard drive manufacturer and
download their hard drive diagnostics.
