hi All,
I'm getting a mup.sys type stop error saying "UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME", on
both my XP and W2000 desktops, caused likely when I had a recent power cut
and I just happened to have iPod's charging. No new hw/sw changes had been
made on either machine. Both powered up ok after the initial outage was
restored, but on subsequent reboots I got this failure......
I've looked on a lot of posts, and pretty much all of them suggest that I
enter the Recovery Console from my XP disk, but when I load from the disk all
I get is a "System Restore Menu" and the following 2 options;
1 Restore Windows XP
2 Boot to Command Prompt from CD-ROM
This is a manufacturers CD, supplied when I got the machine from PC World.
How am I supposed to restore either machine if I can't get to Recovery
Console?
Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated!
