I can't get into windows because I'm getting an
UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME error. I turned off all the
unimportant bios and did basically everything I could
think of doing. My computer never came with a Windows XP
startup disk, so I can't do that.

My only option that I can see is a full system recovery,
in which I would lose all my data. ;_;

Someone please help.

Power off
Desktop:...Open the case and reseat the hard drive IDE ribbon cable at
both ends.
Laptop:... simply remove and reinsert the hard drive.
If that fails:

Otherwise go to the website of the hard drive manufacturer and
download their hard drive diagnostics.

Do you have a hard drive overlay such as Max Blast?
Windows XP sometimes has issues with overlay software.
You may need to perform a Clean Installation without there overlay
software which is not needed anyway.
