unlocking an xp 2600 barton 512 cache

can someone tell me where to go to find out how to overclock this
thing? I have an a7n8x rev2.0 and everytime i adjust the fsb or
multiplier at all it just locks up on reboot...so i know i am doing
something wrong....

1st off, I think your Barton has a locked multiplier--esp. if prod'n
date is 39th week of '03 or later. 2nd, got a prog. to check your memory?
I recently bo't what was s'pos'd to be Kingston HyperX 3500, and cleverly
hidden beneath the heat shield was a generic 2700 ram--plus only 256 meg
where I'd paid for 512 meg!!!. If u don't have s'ware to check/id the ram,
carefully slide the h-s locks back & spread the shields slightly to get a
look at the ram chips and module.

The memory is good it runs at 5-2-2-2 And I used it in an 800 MHz
pentium system and it ran perfectly. However I think my cpu is
locked....bummer.
