unlock document

[Please help]

how do you unlock a modified document, that was already stored to your
computer. I can not got back into the document and make changes.

If you are seeing a message in the status bar that says “This modification
is not allowed because the document is locked,†and if this is Word 2007,
then most likely it is a trial version that has expired.

If you're getting the error message in Word 2003, or if this is an activated
retail copy of Word 2007, see
