Unlock console when it's locked.

If Server 2003 is locked from the console can a remote console session
unlock the server. I've attempted all the C-A-D, C-A-E, C-A-B
combinations, but I haven't gotten any of them to work. What I'm
doing currently is use VNC to unlock the console then TS to the
console session. Since VNC is not very secure, I want to eliminate
this step.

Was VNC installed to provide some relief because this problem existed on the
server before it was installed or has it always been on the server?

If VNC has always been on the server does the issue go away when VNC is
unisintalled?

Are you using the latest version of the RDP Client from the
WindowsServer2003 site?

Remote Desktop Connection for Windows Server 2003 [5.2.3790]

There is one thing you might try, connect to the Terminal Server and press
Ctrl-Alt-Numlock then see if you can unlock the session using Ctrl-Alt-End.
If this does not unlock the session make sure to toggle the session back
with Ctrl-Alt-Numlock once more.

You need to use the Remote Desktop Client with the /console switch to logon to the console session of a 2003 Server. If you logon with the same credentials as the logged on user you will take over the console session. If you attempt to logon with different credentials you'll be warned that you'll logoff the current user, regardless of whether they have the console locked or otherwise
