unlink audio and video

I have imported and .avi file and would like to unlink the audio from the
video and put in a different song.
HELP!

Something to try...

Import the .avi into Windows Movie maker.

Drag it to the timeline.

Right click the Audio track and choose Mute.

Now import the sound file you wish to add
and drag it to the Audio/Music track.

Be sure to drag the new sound clip all the
way to the left or your movie will begin with
dead air.

Also...if the sound file extends beyond the
end of the movie file...it would be a good
idea to split it to match so it won't continue
playing after the video ends. Just drag the
vertical bar to the end of the movie clip /
left click / select the sound file and type
Ctrl+L to split the clip. Now right click /
delete the unwanted portion of the sound
clip.
