I have just swapped laptops from a Dell with XP Home to a Dell with XP Pro.
When I try to open MS Access Applications on a network share that I have
written and which worked ok on XP Home laptop, I get the above warning and
cannot open the application. If I go to the location where the files reside
ie c:\docs & settings\all users\shared docs\ then I can open the files ok.
Other files such as MS Word or Excel are ok but then they are not executeable.

I have no Group Policy settings and at present and I am the sole
administrator and user.

I assume that the problem, is associated with the applications not being
digitally signed,

Can anyone offer any addvice on how to resolve this situation.

Thanks

Try this ... right click My Computer either on the Desktop or Start Menu
and choose Properties.
Click the Advanced tab, then the Settings button under Performance
Click the Data Execution Prevention tab
Put a mark next to ' Turn on DEP for all programs and services except
for those I select '
Click the Add button and add Access.
Click Apply, OK. Close the System Properties window.

Did that help ?

Thanks for the response.

I tried your suggestion but still have the problem.

I only seem to get this warning when I try to open the file in W Explorer.
If I try to open the file from within Access the warning now does not appear.
Having tried to open the file in Access I get an Access error 'Cannot open
file - file is located outside intranet......or a potential security
problem.........' . The file is on a network share and Word documents linked
to the database can be opened ok over the network using MS Word.
Looking at the W Event Viewer (Local)\System I am getting a Warning that may
be associated with the action [Source MRxSmb ID 3019 The redirector failed to
datermine the connection type]
