Hi,
WhenI use the internet I keep getting a popup that asks; are you sure you
want to delete the computer icon from your desktop. I keep clicking on no
but it keeps on doing it, usually when I open a new page or close a page.
Does anyone know what is causing this.

This indicate a malware presence on your machine, try to run a thorough scan
on your machine for both malware and viruses.

Run a thorough scan by doing the following steps:
1... First, try to clean up your caches, Internet files and delete cookies
by doing this:
Click Start >> Control Panel >> Double click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options.
On the IE properties windows you will see these Tabs:
General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs |
Advanced
Under General Tab clear your History, Internet Files and Cookies.
Then click on Advanced tab and scroll down to under the Browsing Option:
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) uncheck this box.
Then click on Programs Tab and click Manage Add-Ons and Disable all non
Verified Add-Ons (You should Renable them later one-by-one and see the
culprit and update it or remove it.
How to manage Add-Ons:

Scan for malware from here:
Download and Update both SuperAntispyware and Malwarebytes then run a
complete scan - Free

Hi Lainey,
Sorry, it is n't allowed to analysis the Hijackthis in Windows Newsgroup.
As I mentioned if you want to send me the log you are wlecome if you want to
send it to one of many forums on the internet to get help.

:

This is an IE6-specific newsgroup. You're running IE7 in Vista.

Think your Registry needs "cleaning" or "repairing"? Read
http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?t=28099 and draw your own conclusions.

Neither AVG Free v8 nor McAfee Security Center is working properly: It is
NOT safe to have this badly infected machine connected to the internet or
any networks!!

When all else fails, HijackThis v2.0.2
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.exe) is the preferred tool to use (in
conjunction with some other utilities). HijackThis will NOT fix anything on
its own, but it will help you to both identify and remove any
hijackware/spyware with assistance from an expert. **Post your log to
http://spywarehammer.com/simplemachinesforum/index.php?board=10.0,
http://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=22,
http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30, or another appropriate forum for review
by an expert in such matters, not here.**

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA or Geek Squad) computer repair shop.
