Unknown messages from almost all vidios!

I have a really big problem becouse i contenues to get error messages which are unknown whenever i try to view most AVI files! I have figured that i need extra devices (such as DivX) installed! But i think there are millions of these out there... Could someone help?

Your question is a bit unclear, but if you are getting audio with no video
when attempting to view avi movie files, install the ffdshow codec before
going anywhere near the many "codec packs" available online:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow/
