unknown message on xp welcome screen

can anyone give me some advice... after booting up i get
this message on my welcome screen written within a
rectangular box..

windows no disk (top left corner)
and below the following...

there is no disk in the drive please insert a disk into
drive\device\harddisk4\dr7

cancel try again continue

i click on cancel a few times and then sign on as usual

any suggestions?
 
Hi Dazzaj,

Off the cuff I would say it's time to load up the recovery
console to do a /bootfix. See this site for more details:

if you still have problems, try the Windows XP General
