Hi there,

I found there are lots of unknown folder in my C drive. All folder name
sound strange for me, like "3af394117489e146ad37bc". Folder name long and
form by alphanumeric which i never know any of them.

May i know are those folders safe? And can i delete all of them?

Please advise. Thank you.

The name alone means nothing. You'll only know what the folders mean by
examining their contents.

Folders with names like that are typically temporary folders created
during software installations.

It looks like it is a temporary folder used to install one (or more) of the
latest Microsoft updates. It also looks like the actual folder name is
randomly generated - I have two PCs running XP Pro and neither match (nor do
they match yours).

I tested deleting this folder on my more expendable PC (I saved a ZIPPED
version just in case) and the machine appeared to boot up and run
applications normally.

For others information, the folder with the randomly generated name contains
two folders:

\amd64
\i386

Where in the \i386 folder one should find:

filterpipelineprintproc.dll
msxpsdrv (Security Catalog)
msxpsdrv (Setup Information)
msxpsdrv.gpd
msxpsdrv.ppd
msxpsdrv.dll
xpssvcs.dll

I would also like to know (for sure) that this folder should have been
deleted automatically at the end of the Microsoft update process.
