I have a file in my WINNT/System32/drivers/etc directory
that grows approximately 1-2 MB per minute until it takes
up all available space in my c drive.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

If so, any suggestons?

Thanks,

Ang

That is evidence that your computer has been hacked or otherwise compromised.
You need to run a virus scan on it and a trojan scan. Unplug it from the
internet and try to back up any important files right away if you can as you may
need to reinstall your operating system. See the link at Karl's FAQ below and
take steps to prevent future problems before you repair your operating system
which will be at minimum to use a firewall, antivirus protection that also scans
emails, and keeping critical updates current at Windows Update. --- Steve

You have a file ......

Okay, so WHAT file is that keeps growing? Is this a highly sensitive file
that we cannot know about? I doubt it.

Is it the hosts file? Since it is a text file, have you looked inside to
see what type of entries are getting added?
