unknown error

running WMP 10.00.00.4036 in windows xp with sp2 uninstalled (big mistake
installing that) when I download music from spiralfrog.com it will play just
fine but when I try to sync to my ipod an unknown error message comes up.
when I click on web help it gives me the error number 80045006 but says
additional information not currently available. can anybody help with this.

DRM seems to be the problem.

Have you upgraded your iPod firmware ?

Work around : burn the files to a CD as audio files, then rip from CD,
convert to mp3's then transfer to you Ipod using iTunes.
