i am installing winxp onto a new hard drive which is formatted ntfs. keep
getting error message"stop c0000221 unknown hard
error\systemroot\system32\ntdll.dll" any help would be much appreciated

Did you format using the WXP CD or another utility? Were you running WXP
on this machine before the new hd? Is this a special size or type of
hd? Test your memory using MemTest86.
