I believe I need to update the firmware for my CD-R/RW, but I’m unsure
of the namebrand. My device manager, and belarc advisor my cousin ran
all say ATAPI CD-R/RW 32X10. ATAPI isn’t a name brand is it. I opened
up the case and it doesn’t say either. I believe the firmware needs
updated, because of the blank screens I receive when I try to start a
game (ie Diablo II).

I will appreciate any help or suggestions.

Thank you :D

Hi Rumple,

Did you know you were posting to the Microsoft XP Games Newsgroup?
It's hard to tell that those forums are just piggybacking on our newsgroup.

If you are experiencing video problem with games, yet DVD movies play
fine, then I would suspect it's your Video / AGP which require the update.

You'll have to remove the optical drive from your PC and look at the sticker
on the top of it.
