When adding new contacts to my Outlook - the country "United Kingdom" is
added automatically to the end. How can I stop this from happening?

Check your default country settings in Windows Regional and Language
options.

There seems nothing there to help me. It would probably be more accurate to
say that I have no problem with the country "United Kingdom" being
automatically stored in the contact list, but, when I place an address in
e.g. MSWord, to address an envelope, I do not need the country to appear.

What version of Outlook are you using? In Outlook 2007 there's just a white
space to type in the address - I don't type in "UK" and it doesn't get
automatically added....

Mine is 2003 - perhaps this is a quirk they have sorted in later editions.
It is not fatal - just a nuisance, as it means I havae to go into the
details of the address and delete it by hand everytine.
