Hello Russ,

I'll try to explain you that with my poor English.

I can send and receive Faxes and the "Fax Monitor" is fonctionning
perfectly, but, when I open the Console in order to have a look in the
"sentitems" or "inbox", the console sometimes show me (but after a long
periode 1 or 2 minutes) the sent or received Faxes and sometimes not, and,
the console say me after a few minute that "there is no Fax printer
accessible" instead to say "ready".

Note I have two other computer (The same DELL Dimension) on which it is
working properly.

I have already completly uninstall and reinstall the fax service via XP, but
there is certainly a few files that i didn't arrived to delete, so the
problem is still there.

I am going to sleep now because it is midnight here and I am exhaust, so,
may be, to read you again tomorrow.

Thank you beforehand if you can help me

The only time I have seen that error message is in situations where XP Fax
was installed in a system after the SP2 patch was installed, but it happens
every time, not just now and then.
Are you saying you get this error message now and then, but not every time?

I get this message every time, also if I can read the "sentitems" or
"inbox", but anyway it is too long to make me able to have access to the
sentitems or inbox.

Note that computer was delivered to me on Friday afternoon and I tried to
use the first restauration point, but the trouble was still happening there.

To troubleshoot this it would be necessary to know whether the Fax module
was installed before or after SP2.

Hello From Paris Russ,

I found what was wrong, it was "McAfee Firewall plus" that was locking the
Fax console.

Thanks for your help, hope that will be useful for other persons.

Hi Russ, Like I said, I'm an idiot. When I try to access fax console, I get a
message saying there was a problem running the file specified when running
the accessibility wizard. When I go into the Dell All-in-One Centre, I can
scan in a document but when I do the next step--the Fax Wizard--th eprogram
becomes unresponsive. Another message I get is that the system can't find
fxsapi.dll. I have checked for this file and it is in the i386 folder and it
is not zipped. the fxscfgwz.dll fiile is also there, unzipped. I have
reloaded the printer and fax drivers but it makes no difference. I have
called Dell and they want to charge me $99 US to fix the problem over the
phone. What should I do next?

First, never forget what Dell told you when it comes time to buy your next
PC. It is clearly the OEM's responsibility to provide you access to the
necessary installation files for any component of Windows XP.
I would have no way of knowing what Dell's "all-in-one" center is. If they
have added some other fax component then it will very likely interfere with
your ability to install or use the Windows XP Fax module. Dell should
provide the support necessary to sort this out free of charge.
