We have lots of trouble on the Home version since out antivirus program ran out it freezes up on programs we have tons of viruses and sometimes we can't open anything.
I have decided to unistall Windows completely and reinstall it but in Add and Remove programs I can't find Windows XP like it says it should be there.
How can I go about uninstalling XP?
Thanks

From what you are describing, I think you want to boot off WinXP CD and
re-format hard drive.

The only way you'd have Windows in the Add & Remove is if you upgraded,
opted to save your old settings, and didn't convert to NTFS.

But as far as it goes, uninstalling & reinstalling Windows wouldn't do
anything as far as your virus problem anyway.

If you format the drive and reinstall, that's another story. But why not
just get rid of the viruses?

How do I do this what is the best way to get it running
normally again?

You can try one or more of the online virus scanners, or, if you know the
names of the viruses, there may be removal tools that will get rid of the
viruses.

Now that you've seen the problems viruses can cause, you might want to
install updated antivirus software, and make sure you keep it updated. Just
because you get rid of a virus doesn't mean you won't get it back again --
or get another one.
