Ok basically, due to someone screwing around instead of waiting for me, I
have a file type association issue.
The type of file is .UMOD
For those that don't know its a self-extracting installer for the Unreal
series of games (Unreal, Unreal Tournament, etc).
Now, when they were screwing around I hadn't yet reinstalled my Unreal
games, so obviously they wouldnt self-extract. So, you all know what windows
does with unrecognized file types... They associated it with random things
and now after I have installed the game, they obviously don't work properly
because Windows is trying to open them with other programs. I even tried
setting them to the games .exe file and it didn't change anything (but I
didn't expect that to help).
Basically my question is how can I dis-associate the file type with all
things, rather, resetting its association to nothing at all? Would I have to
manually edit parts of the registry? If so, where and how?
All help is appreciated.
