Hi All
I had this posted on the hardware news group but didn't get a response, maybe
i didn't waite long enough. (going on 3 days)

I just put togather a new PC . It is - Intel board , D865PERL and CPU intel
P4 2.4C.
Both support 800 FSB .
I ran the AIDA32 program and it tells me , only one CPU installed , you
should change to uniprocessor HAL.
Is this something i can do in windows or is it something else , this is new
to me , never had such a high performance machine before.
Hope someone can help me out here.
Thanks
Carl

Ran: uniprocessor HAL
through a Google search and eventually wound up at

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=309283

HAL = Hardware Abstraction Layer.

If AIDA32 tells you "only one CPU installed , you
should change to uniprocessor HAL" then perhaps, at some
point during the setup of your computer's operating system,
you told it you had dual processors???? (or picked the
wrong HAL - there are several). I'm guessing. Try the
Google search - there were other listings. Sorry I can't
be more specific.

I should also add that they both support Hyper-threading technology. This is
all new to me so i am still lost.
Thanks Carl
