uninstalling

When uninstalling software, a dialogue box usually appears asking whether XP
should remove files that are no longer being used by other programs. The
advice seems to be a little contradictory. Although you are told that these
files are not in use, you are then told that other programs may not work if
they are deleted. What's the best thing to do??

Hi

If you are unsure as to whether those files can safely be deleted, the best
idea is to leave them where they are. That especially applies to .DLL
files, where one of those could very well be used by several different
programs.
