Is there any way I can uninstall Windows XP Home Edition
other than automatically? I installed XP but it doesn't
register as installed in the Programmes Installed box,
perhaps because I have not activated it (and do not now
want to). How can I uninstall it ~ any ideas that would
not upset my Windows 98 which is also installed?

Disk

1. Delete the Windows XP partition.
2. Create a new partition.
3. Format the new partition FAT32.
4. Install your desired Operating System.

When you installed XP, did you select upgrade? If you selected upgrade, did
you also elect to save the files for the old operating system? Did you stay
with FAT32 as your file system?

If the answer to all of the above is yes, you should have the option to
uninstall XP. Since you do not have that option, either you did not save
the files for the old operating system or you switched to NTFS. If this is
the case, the opportunity to uninstall XP is forfeited. The only way to
return to Win98 is to start over from scratch.

There is one more possibility. You setup a dual boot. Do you get a screen
when you first power up asking if you want to boot to Win98 or WinXP? If
yes, see this page:

.
i,m asuming that your drive is partitioned, so it's just
a case of deleting the unwanted programs into the bin
