I downloaded the Windows XP trial and now I want to remove it. I have
Windows XP and 2000 on the same drive. When I start up the computer it
asks me which one to run. I want to keep 2000 professional and
completely remove Windows XP. How do I do that?

Hello!

I reccomend calling The Computer Company for FREE technical support at
1-800-928-4025. They would be glad to assist you with any questions.

Hi,

Boot to Win2000, delete the WinXP system files from Windows Explorer and
then remove the entry referring to it from the [operating systems] section
of boot.ini, which can be edited in notepad. This system file will be found
on the root of the active partition, and before making changes you will need
to remove the "read only" attribute.

Use the Control Panel | System | Advanced | Startup and Recovery | Settings,
use the Edit button and delete the Windows XP entry.
Once that is down, you should be able to re-format the partition (I assume
that Windows XP is on another partition), that Windows XP is on.

If you don't want to be prompted for OS with the boot menu each time you
boot, the Control Panel | System .... tab is where you turn off the timeout
and set the default OS to boot.
