Sorry Buddy, Jonathon's procedure doesn't work for me. It
starts with: "Shut down Messenger, if it is running". I
would if I could; and if I could have before I installed
the new version, I would not be having this problem. \
Unfortunately, when I attempted / attempt to shut down
messenger, it tells me that I have to first shut down all
programs that use it. At the time I did not, to my
knowledge, have any of the named programs or any other
running. At least Task Manger did not show any of them.
Nor did my status bar. Since they were not running, I
could not shut them down. Nor could I shut down
Messenger. - We obviously have a catch 22.
If any of these programs were / are running, how do I
shut them down in XP? It was easy, if tedious (one at a
time) to shut down everything but the System Tray in
previous Windows Versions, but XP... Mamma Mia! Do I need
to go into the list of "Processes". If yes, what of this
mile long list is save to be "End tasked"?
