Ok, so I bought and installed the complete WinXp Home
Edition version. Great. Now I want to uninstall the Win98
I had been running with. It's there still, I know. How
and where do I start to do this?

We need more information, did you install XP over 98? If yes, you can't
remove one without removing the other, that's a straight upgrade install.
Did you install XP on a separate partition and create a dual boot scenario
with 98; that's at least if the dual boot was created by XP setup. If yes,
you need to start over, dumping both and reinstalling XP. If you used third
party software, you can get out of this but we need some information.

Surely if it was an UPGRADE, there was an option to keep old settings in
order to revert? In that case the OP just goes to Control panel-Add/Remove
programs and removes XP to get back to 98?

If he elected to save his original setup, he can remove the backup
information as that will be in add/remove. However, he said he wanted to
uninstall 98, if XP is installed over it, he can't remove 98 without
formatting.
