I've got a Hauppage TV card fitted, and the native app that comes with that
gizmo is far superior to the awful Media Centre that Vista provides. (and it
works flawlessly!)
I also toyed with Vista Mail for a few days then went back to good old
Outlook - IMO a much better Mailer and PIM.
From what I've learnt on this forum it isn't possible to unistall the Vista
features I don't want.
Is this correct? Do we have to just let this stuff sit there taking up disk
real-estate for no purpose?

Not sure about WinMail, I use it as my needs in that area are basic. As for
the Media Centre stuff, I hated XP MCE, so now anything to do with MCE is
disabled at start up for me on Vista, I also deleted all shortcuts to it and
set all my media files to play in other apps. Problem solved.
